Goretzka, who is entering the final year of his Schalke contract, is yet to agree a new deal with the German club and has been the subject of interest from a number of top European clubs over the last few months.
Barcelona, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City are all keeping tabs on the contract situation, with the hope of bringing in the midfielder on a free next summer.
However, the Spanish publication claims that Ernesto Valverde is ready to sneak in and submit a cut-price bid between £10-15m in the January transfer window.
The Spanish giants have reportedly already made contact with Goretzka's agent and it is understood that Schalke will be open to selling, if the contract stalemate continues.
Valverde could say goodbye to a number of fringe players in the new year due to lack of game time. Andre Gomes, Arda Turan and Rafinha are on the list of stars who could be seeking a move away from the Camp Nou.
