Spanish publication 'El Pais' reports that the Uruguayan may have made quite the first impression upon meeting Neymar the the first time after the Brazilian completed his move from Barcelona... and not in a good way.
Cavani is alleged to have asked the Samba star; 'And who is this? Do you think you're (Lionel) Messi?' when Neymar met his new team-mates for the first time.
Without knowing the context, Cavani's character etc it is impossible to say whether the 30-year-old was joking or not but given the reports that part of Neymar's motivation behind the move to the French capital was to step out from Messi's shadow, the former Santos man probably didn't take it too well.
Tensions between the two then reached boiling point after the pair argued over who would take a penalty in the 2-0 victory over Lyon earlier this month and the saga shows no signs of quietening down any time soon.
Neymar was rumoured to have demanded that PSG sell Cavani in the aftermath of the incident, something that would upset the PSG faithful given the Uruguayan's status as a fan-favourite.
Cavani has also allegedly rejected an offer of a €1m 'bonus' in return for allowing Neymar to assume spot kick duties in the future.
Can't we all just get along?
