Neymar was suspended for the game, having already accumulated five yellow cards in Ligue 1 so far this season, but some have claimed that his suspension may have been self-inflicted.
The theory is that Neymar made sure that he would miss the game in order to spend time with his son David Luca, who was visiting Paris with his mother Carolina Dantas.
This would go some way to explaining Neymar's challenge on Dimitri Lienard with just two minutes remaining of the defeat to Strasbourg last time out.
The Brazilian flew into a late challenge on his opponent, with barely any intent to play the ball and whilst many took it as an act of frustration at the time, they are now viewing the incident in a fresh light.
Neymar didn't protest the decision... perhaps because he wanted the yellow?
It should be stressed that this is only a theory and not one that carries much weight, but it has certainly got people talking.
