Edu Aguirre made the astonishing revelation speaking on 'El Chringuito', claiming that Ronaldo's days in the Spanish capital could be numbered.
"Cristiano and his lawyers only want one thing, a document in writing stating that Real Madrid promise to allow him to leave the club at the end of the season," Aguirre explained.
The Portuguese's current release clause is a whopping €1bn and whilst transfer fees may be rising exponentially with each passing window, no one is realistically going to pay such a figure any time soon, something that Ronaldo is well aware of.
"Ronaldo's release clause is €1bn and no team is going to be able to pay it. That's why his lawyers are going to try to come to an agreement with the club that will allow any interested parties to sign him at the end of the season in a more straightforward manner," Aguirre continued.
The aformentioned source went on to state that Ronaldo is deeply unhappy at Real, saying: "He wants to leave because he's not happy. The situation between the player and the club has not improved... it's worse than ever."
It seems that the last thing on Ronaldo's mind is a contract extension. "He doesn't want to sit down to negotiate any type of renewal," said the renowned journalist.
Finally, Aguirre added that Ronaldo's ire was invoked further udirng the Ballon d'Or gala, with Real president Florentino Perez upsetting the star with his topic of conversation.
"Following the awards ceremony, Ronaldo's anger increased because of what Florentino Perez had said about trying to tempt Neymar to the club. The Real Madrid president said 'Neymar isn't a bad idea, he's got more chance of winning the Ballon d'Or with Real Madrid' but Cristiano didn't think it was the night to talk about such matters," he explained.
It remains to be seen if Aguirre is right, after all it isn't the first time that Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu.
