Ozil has moved into the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates and with no new deal loooking likely, it is looking as though the playmaker will head to pastures new next summer.
As the 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer, transfer rules state that he is free to talk to foreign clubs from January and it appears that there is already a queue forming for his services.
Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has today admitted that Ozil is a player that the Italain side are very much interested in, though he admits that previous January deals have left him cautious.
'He [Ozil] is definitely one of those players we are looking at but the last January signings of [Lukas] Podolski and [Xherdan] Shaqiri proves winter signings can fail to live up to expectations,' explained the Indonesian.
Inter are on the lookout for a creative midfilder as they look to build a squad capable of challenging on both a domestic and European level.
Luciano Spalletti's side currently find themselves in third place in Serie A following their unbeaten start to the season.
Ozil has been limited to just four starts so far this season due to a succession of injuries and at this moment in time, it is unclear where his future lies.
