Mourinho set to miss out on midfielder

Despite Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti today insisting that no decision will be made over the Portuguese's future until the end of pre-season, reports claim that the player is set to join AC Milan.

Mourinho confirmed on Tuesday that he was in the market for a midfielder but it appears that he may have to look elsewhere. 

French publication 'LEquipe' reports that the 19-year-old is poised for a £35m move to the Italian capital where he will sign a four-year deal.

The youngster has openly admitted that a move to AC would be an 'interesting option' and it seems like his spell in Germany is set to end after just a year.

The player arrived in Munich as one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in the world but suffered a disappointing season and Bayern are now prepared to cut their losses and move him on.

Mourinho has spoken in the past about his failed attempts to sign the former Benfica man and he may well now have another anecdote for the list.
