Luiz Felipe Scolari believes that the new rules regarding CSL transfers will end Paulinho's hopes of a move away from the club.
A recent rule change introduced a 100% tax on fees over £5.2 million paid by Chinese clubs meaning that replacing their star players would be an expensive undertaking.
The Brazilian international recently confirmed that he has an offer from Barcelona, however stressed that the Catalan giants would have to find an agreement with his current employers, Guangzhou Evergrande, in order for any deal to happen.
When asked by reporters, Guangzhou boss Scolari played down the chances of the move, saying that "none of the Chinese clubs will let their key players go because it would be difficult and expensive to find a replacement due to the new rules."
The rules have meant a quiet start to the new transfer window after several incredible switches last season.
