The winger enjoyed a slow start to life in the Premier League but went on to show his worth with some fantastic performances during the second half of the campaign, however the German is under no illusions that things will turn out easier this time around.
In an interview with 'Sky Sports News' the 21-year-old said: "Last season everyone said to me I think it's going to be the hardest season. Now a year on it's again the hardest season."
"I think that's the special thing about the Premier League because every team wants to buy players, get better and improve more."
"Yes, it will be a very hard season this season."
The former Schalke man said much will be expected of him this season but that he would be doing everything in his power to show his worth.
"Now will come more pressure because everyone knows I've settled in, but I don't feel the pressure. I want to improve for me and for the team. I want to help them," he explained.
Sane and City will no doubt be aiming to seal some silverware this time around, having finished 3rd and trophyless last season, but with the big-money signings of Alexandre Lacazette, Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata by rivals Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, this season promises to be the most competitive in years.
