The reverse fixture may have ended in a 5-0 thrashing on Boxing Day, but Carvalhal is confident his team can perform against Jurgen Klopp's side who beat undefeated Premier League leaders Manchester City in their last game.
The Portuguese boss, who took over Swansea two days after that humiliating defeat, said: "It's David versus Goliath, but surprises do happen and we will be ready to prepare a surprise on Monday.
"They have strong points, but a team that lets in three has weak points also. [They are] not a team that wins 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, so I look at the game like that."
He concluded: "The best teams in the world have very few weak points, but they do have them. So let's try and exploit that and hide the strong points that they do have".
Swansea are bottom of the Premier League, six points from safety, but have only lost once in five games since Carvalhal succeeded Paul Clement, with that defeat coming against high-flyers Tottenham.
The 52-year-old has minimised the defensive mistakes which plagued the team during the first four months of the season, but they will have their work cut out against a free-scoring Liverpool who have already hit the back of the net 54 times this season.
