In an revealing interview for 'Maisfutebol', Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo gave his view of current events in football and spoke about the unavoidable subject that is the rivalry at the summit of world football.
Messi or Ronaldo? He was asked. "I am fortunate enough to play alongside both of them. It only happens to Andre Gomes and I. Playing with the best is great and they are certainly the best," the Portuguese full-back explained.
Having arrived at Barcelona in the summer, Semedo analysed Cristiano Ronaldo's dismal goalscoring run in La Liga, which could be down to Real Madrid's collective dip in form.
"He is not scoring as many goals in La Liga but he has provided assists and has scored in the Champions League. I don't think it's his fault, the team is not well," the defender added. "He is not supplied with as many balls and fewer chances are created," said Semedo, before urging his Barcelona teammates to stay focused and maintain the considerable point gap with their rivals in the title race.
"We cannot speak just about Real Madrid and Barcelona, Valencia are also having a good season," Semedo said, before backing the Catalans for European success. "Barcelona always fight for all the titles and this year will be no different because we have the players to do so," he concluded.
