Nicolas de Tavernost, president of M6, who own the Ligue 1 side reportedly told his company's AGM: "There is a major player from Brazil who you know wants to leave the club and we will do that in all of our interests.
"It is the reason we bought this player in the first place, to eventually sell him in between seasons."
Renowned French news source 'L'Equipe' quickly picked up on the quotes and whilst there is no player mentioned by name, Malcom is thought to be the player in question.
The Brazilian has scored nine goals and laid on eight assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season, leading to interest from a host of top European sides.
Both Arsenal and Spurs are thought to be tracking the player closely and could now pounce in the summer.
