The Catalan newspaper claims that sources close to the 21-year-old have said that he is totally predisposed to push his deal with the La Liga leaders through and is willing to sign a contract immediately, even if he doesn't officially join until next season.
Barcelona would have no space for Arthur in their current squad with Paulinho, Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina making up the quota for South American footballers but have still been heavily linked with a move.
However, the Brazilian could sign with the club and then return to Gremio on loan for their full season which starts in a couple months or be loaned to another European club to get him accustomed to the different system.
There are definitely options for 'Los Cules' and the board hopes to finalise an agreement soon once they meet the Brazilian Serie A team's demands of paying €30m and letting Arthur stay in Porto Alegre until 2019.
Either way, this transfer saga looks set to rumble on for a little while longer.
