The Colombian had initially joined the Bavarians on a two year loan deal last summer, but it now looks as if the German champions are ready to make the move permanent long before the loan period is finished.
Reports coming out of Germany have said that Bayern will take out their option to buy the 26-year-old on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
It would cost them €42million, a steal given the way the market has changed since that clause was inserted in the contract. Real Madrid bought James from Monaco in 2014 for a reported €75million, and would stand to lose a substantial ammount on the deal.
