The Belgian was relatively untroubled during Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League tie on Tuesday, but still came out to talk to reporters after the match.
It was during this post-match interview that Courtois moved to clarify those comments about a potential move to Real Madrid, in which he famously said: "My heart is in Madrid, if they want me, they have to contact Chelsea".
However, according to the 25-year-old, that is not entirely the case as he revealed that he's still speaking to Chelsea about a contract extension, but also admitted his agent will "listen" to 'Los Blancos'.
"I'm not clear about my future, what I said that my heart is in Madrid was misunderstood. I have two children in Spain, in Madrid, and that's not easy," Courtois admitted.
"I have one year left [here] and I'm happy and talking to Chelsea. They have bet on me from the first moment and that is not forgotten".
Turning his attention to Real, the goalkeeper said: "I do not think Florentino Perez calls me, he will call my agent and he will listen to him".
Despite his best efforts to clear up some of the speculation, it seems that this transfer saga will continue to rumble on as the Spanish giants look to secure a goalkeeping replacement for Keylor Navas in the summer.
