Here is the draw for the Europa League Round of 16:
23 February 2018
AC Milan v Arsenal!
There's some interesting fixtures to be played in the Round of 16, the most notable of which will feature a battle between Gennaro Gattuso's resurgant Milan and Arsene Wenger's inconsistent Arsenal, who could arguably have the edge given that the return leg will be at the Emirates. Although Ostersunds FK proved on Thursday that home advantage is not always a good thing!
The Serie A outfit arrive in the next round after thrashing Lugogorets 4-0 on aggregate and will not be a pushover for the English team.
Dortmund v Salzberg!
Peter Stoger will be relishing his side's impending tie with the Austrian club given Dortmund only scraped through to the Round of 16 with a late equaliser to win 4-3 on aggregate.
Salzberg are in a similar situation after coming through their tough clash with Real Socidad to also secure a 4-3 aggregate victory.
Sporting Lisbon v Viktoria Plzen!
One of the more tame encounters see Portugal face Czech Republic. Sporting Lisbon weathered a six-goal thriller with Astana in their second leg to win 6-4 overall while Plzen overcame FK Patizan 3-1.
Marseille v Athletic Bilbao!
Although it won't be billed as the big battle, both sides will fancy their chances to progress to the quarter-finals. Ligue 1 side Marseille lost the return leg against Braga but still progressed comfortably 3-1. Meanwhile in Spain, Bilbao also experienced a loss to Spartak Moscow but managed to just about hold on to progress 4-3 on aggregate.
CSKA Moscow v Lyon!
Lyon negotiated their fiery encounter with Villarreal to come through strongly (4-1 agg.) and will now face one of the Russian teams as CSKA scored the only goal in their second leg to beat Red Star Belgrade in the last-32.
Atletico Madrid v Lokomotiv Moscow!
Again, this has the potential to be an interesting match-up as Diego Simeone's side has struggled relatively in Europe this season, or at least when they were in the Champions League. Since moving down to the sister competition, they have looked far more comfortable and dispatched Copehagen 5-1 over two legs. As for Lokomotiv, they came through against Nice 4-2 on aggregate.
RB Leipzig v Zenit!
Zenit eliminated Celtic from the competition after thumping them 3-0 in the return fixture to win 3-1 overall. Their Round of 16 opponents, RB Leipzig, had to sweat to make their place in the next round though. They lost the second tie 2-0 to Napoli but went through on away goals.
Lazio v Dynamo Kiev!
The first names out of the pot were Lazio and Dynamo Kiev. The Serie A outfit thrashed FC Steaua Bucuresti to win 5-2 on aggregate while their Ukrainian opponents came through on away goals against AEK Athens.
UEFA show a video reel of the best highlights from the competition so far before their General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti takes to the stage to explain the process.
Draw for the Round of 16 Europa League is underway!
There is no seeding in this draw although teams from Russia and Ukraine cannot be drawn together due to growing tensions between the two nations. To avoid this, the ball containing Dynamo Kiev will kept separated from those of Lokomotiv Moscow, Zenit and CSKA Moscow.
The first leg of the next round will be played on Thursday 8 March whilst the second leg will take place a week later on Thursday 15 March.
