"It's the first time I've ever trained alongside Andres Iniesta," the Valencia midfielder stated. "I only have good adjectives to describe him, we all know about how he plays, about his career, what he has achieved and continues to achieve."
"He is a big player who has changed the game, a super intelligent footballer, and a great teammate. We have to make the most of all the time we have, because we will miss him a lot in the future," he said in a press conference ahead of Spain's friendly against Germany.
Parejo, who is 28 years old, expressed his happiness at his call up to Julen Lopetegui's squad, revealing how he found out that he had been selected for his country for the first time.
"We were in the Valencia physio room getting treatment, and I wasn't aware of the time," he began. "Some of the players, kit men and physios came in and cheered me and hugged me and told me that I had been called up."
"I am content, happy for my first call up. I am enjoying my first moments with a lot of eagerness and hunger."
The midfielder is certain that he won't have a problem integrating into the side, saying he will play where he is asked to.
"The manager, depending on the opponent and what he wants, will find the best position for me," he stated. "The system goes with my style of play, and understanding of the game. I don't think I'll have much problem."
