- Paul Pogba -
The midfielder has long been linked to a move elsewhere, given that his relationship with manager Mourinho has cooled significantly. Pogba moved in a £89million transfer from Juventus to return to United in 2016, and has struggled to live up to expectations. The 25-year-old has failed to secure a regular starting spot, particularly since his clash with Mourinho was made public. The Portuguese has criticised Pogba in the media for his poor performances, and has rarely come to his defence. However, his departure from United would be heavily dependent on whether a suitable buyer could be found. Given the fact that the Frenchman has a particularly high transfer fee and wages, it seems likely that there are only a few clubs in Europe's elite that would facilitate his exit from Old Trafford.
- Anthony Martial -
The young Frenchman has only made 16 starts so far in the Premier League, and seems destined for a move away from the club. The arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku meant that Martial was played more on the wing, and has struggled increasingly to impress Mourinho. Martial is tipped with a shot at the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, or potentially a move to the French capital to join forces with Paris Saint-Germain, regardless, the 22-year-old is highly likely to be snapped up this summer.
- Daley Blind -
Blind is another of Van Gaal's signings whose has failed to curry favour with current coach Mourinho. The defender has spent much of the season out with an ankle injury, having played a grand total of three minutes in the Premier League so far. The versatility of the 28-year-old, who can vary between defence and midfield has been useful to United but his lack of pace has led to increased speculation that he will part ways with United, perhaps to join Roma after the club expressed their interest.
- Luke Shaw -
The 22-year-old has fallen foul of Mourinho this season, and has been heavily criticised by the Portuguese publicly. Despite not having broken into the starting XI in the Premier League for two and a half months, Shaw could be playing the waiting game. He has one year remaining on his contract, and with Mourinho's future at United not 100 per cent certain, the defender could be hoping that his manager leaves before he does. Shaw's future may include a stint at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea reportedly keen to sign the young player.
- Marouane Fellaini -
The Belgian is yet to confirm a contract renewal with United, given that he arrived having negotiated very good personal terms, and United are disinclined to increase his salary. If the midfielder were to leave, he would be likely to move to the Turkish league, specifically Besiktas, although Premier League clubs have expressed interest along with PSG.
